The language portal bab.la is a free online platform for language lovers. We have 40 dictionaries for 28 languages, a language forum, vocabulary lessons, language games, quizzes, verb conjugation for 12 languages, phrase books for university, business or travel, an internship platform and many other language-related products.

In April 2015 bab.la joined the Oxford Dictionaries family when Oxford University Press became our parent company. Oxford and bab.la share a vision and mission to deliver quality language-related content to a global community.

At bab.la, we are working to become the world's largest online dictionary. To achieve this goal our international and multilingual content team works hand in hand with the users, who can suggest words for the dictionaries and therefore improve their quality. From our office in Hamburg, Germany, we strive to maintain a high-quality language product by adding new entries to the dictionaries and evaluating those suggested by users.
